My final zine differed greatly than what I planned on doing in my brainstorm blog. I was struggling coming up with image ideas for my original themes and then I started to think about things I was passionate about and I thought of movies. Movies are something I really enjoy and appreciate the art of. As I was thinking about this I realized I should make my own movie posters for the movies I like. I spent a lot of time picking out which movies I wanted to make posters for. For some of them I would pick a scene I would want to stylize. For others I identified themes in the movie that I thought could translate well into my zine. In all of them I wanted to utilize colors/styles that were used in their respective movies. The final six movies I chose were, Interstellar, La La Land, 500 Days of Summer, Garden State, Blade Runner 2049 and Lost in Translation. All of these movies mean something different to me and hold importance in my life so it was cool to make something of my own that shows my appreciation of them. As I was creating my zine I had so many ideas of ways to communicate the messages of the movies onto my posters but I wasn't able to create them in the way I wanted just due to my intro level skills in Photoshop and Illustrator. I am really pleased with how my final posters turned out but I hope to become better with these tool so I can continue to communicate my thoughts onto an image.
